Reconciliation Process
How we compare your handwritten backups to physical seed storage in four deliberate stages.
Intake and room preparation
Before you arrive, we confirm word count, artifact types, and the number of custodians attending. The reconciliation room is cleared of personal items, swept for recording devices, and stocked with fresh worksheets, pencils, and a sealed discrepancy log.
Artifact placement and custody check
You place paper copies and metal originals on the table in the order you wish to verify. We photograph neither artifact. You sign a custody acknowledgment confirming that materials have remained in your possession since leaving home.
Two-pass read-aloud protocol
A senior reconciler reads each word from the paper copy while you follow on the metal original. After the first pass, we take a mandatory fifteen-minute break. The second pass reverses direction — metal to paper — to catch orientation errors missed on the first reading.
Discrepancy logging and sealing
Any mismatches are recorded with line numbers and suggested corrections. You initial each page. The report is placed in a tamper-evident envelope that you seal before leaving. We retain no copies of phrase content.
Before your appointment
Review our Field Notes on preparing word lists and organising binders. If you use the Offline Wallet Tracker reference app, complete your local word list before the session — our reconcilers do not enter phrases into any device during the appointment.
